As believers, this night we will realize the blessed Laylat al-Mi'raj, which is full of wisdom. Isra and Miraj, is the miraculous journey of the Prophet (pbuh) one night from Masjid al-Haram to Jerusalem Mosque, and from there to the heavens to observe the signs and the infinite power of Allmighty Allah. This blessed journey which is hosting many divine wisdom and blessings, is expressed in the verse I read as follows: "Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing. "1
My Precious Brothers!
Miraj, is the most spectacular witnessing of Prophet (pbuh) to the infinity of God’s Glory and His endless power. By this testimony our Lord showed us that the true glory and supremacy belongs to Him alone. At the same time He taught us how to purify ourselves and the way to reach His true servitude.
The Lord of the Worlds, by gratifying His Messenger with Miraj, gave us a clear message that if we adorn our lives with these lofty values we will be rewarded by eternal blessings of paradise.
Laylat al-Miraj, is Reunion with the Lord and leaving what he bans. Miraj is good news for believers. Our Lord announced that he will grant forgivess in this holy night, to the big sins of those who not associated partners to Him. Miraj is a gift for us. The five daily prayers, our closest moments to God, has been decreed upon us in this night.2 As Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) ascended heavens in this night, we also increase our levels by Daily prayers. By saying "Allahu akbar", stripped out of all the turmoils of Daily life, we deeply understand the wisdom of creation and the meaning of existence. By our “Kıyam” we symbolize straightforwardness, while standing in front of Allah. By our recitation, we pray Him with the most sincere praise and prayers. By our “Ruku’u” (bowing down) we show that we bend the neck in front of our Lord alone. By our “Sujud” (prostrate) we enjoy His closeness and reaching the summit of servitude. By our “Tahiyyat” (praising) we get higher positions while exalting our Lord. With our “salam” (salutation) we remember our freedom and salvation. We live the Miraj in all its impulse five times a day.
“Âmenerresûlu” which we read every night is a gift from Miraj. In these verses, we renew our vow to our Lord, "We believed in Allah and His angels, His books, His apostles.", "We hear and obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination." "We express our surrender, Saying; " Man will have [the consequence of] what [good] has gained, and will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] has earned. " we reaffirm our responsibility and reacknowledge that everything we do in this world has a response in Hereafter. Finally, we seek asylum with these most sincere prayers. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."
My Precious Brothers!
The values of Miraj are the supreme and sacred values which opens significant horizons for us. By values of Laylat al Miraj we avoid of being thrown to “esfel-i safilin”, the down the downs, we attain to “Ahsen-i Taqweem” the finest condition. The values of Miraj elevate man to the “Sidrat al Münteha”, to perfection, the highest point. These lofty values will take us to the heaven where we’ll dwell therein forever in peace. As long as we hold firmly to these values, and we reflect them to our lives intently. As long as our faith is our “Burag”, Our worship is our “Refref”. As long as we have good deeds and high morals. In such a case, every moment of our lives will be our Miraj.
By the occasion of Miraj, Let’s remember once again our responsibilities to ourselves, our neighbourhood and our environment. Let us not forget that today, it is for us, as believers, not to read the Miraj of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as a memoir or as a history. It is for us to stand as Abu Bakr, to adopt a posture of submission and faithfulness to God's commandments and prohibitions. Those who do not Show this loyalty and submission in these means, will be deprived of the spirit and achievements of Miraj.
With these thoughts and feelings, I congratulate the Miraj of all of you. We ask Allah to make Laylat al-Miraj reason to our rise as nation and Islamic Ummah, to be instrumental to consolidate our brotherhood, unity and solidarity feelings. May God bless your Miraj Night .
